Rainbow is revitalized on the band's fourth and most successful studio album. Vocalist Ronnie James Dio has been replaced by surprise choice Graham Bonnet, better known in pop than rock, and the band nails its colors to the American arena rock mast - with the hits to back it up.

For it, Blackmore freshened up virtually the whole band, bringing in his ex-Deep Purple band-mate Roger Glover and keyboardist Don Airey, as well as Bonnet, and retaining only Cozy Powell from the last album line-up.
The change in direction brought commercial success and a whole new fan base that elevated Rainbow to the next level.
