TARJA TURUNEN: THE SHADOW SELF CD/DVD
ans of symphonic rock singer Tarja Turunen have nothing to complain about in 2016, as the Finnish soprano and songwriter is releasing two new studio albums just two months apart.
It started on June 3 with the herald "The Brightest Void". The second part of the double album, "The Shadow Self", will now follow on August 5.

According to Turunen, the reason for her extensive output is that she simply had too many songs for just one album. So the singer simply made two albums that stand completely on their own but still belong together.
Like its predecessor, "The Shadow Self" also has a few surprises in store. These include, for example, a cover version of the Muse hit "Supremancy" and a duet with Canadian singer Alissa White-Gluz from the Swedish metal band Arch Enemy.
Otherwise, the former Nightwish singer continues on her new album where she left off on part one and lays her angelic voice eleven times over massive guitar riffs and pulsating drums. The result is another exemplary symphonic metal album.
